Some people take the longer road to find their “God given” talents! This is Teresa Mims’ story: Early in her career, Teresa realized a passion for Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) while attending a technical college in North Carolina. Using the latest technology she drafted 3 dimensional drawings of homes and more complicated structures for her clients. Her education and travels lead her deeper into the physical sciences to include Geographic Information Systems (GIS), now instead of drawing homes and offices, she was capturing cities, towns and military installations from the sky for municipal and strategic purposes. With all of her success, she wanted more. She wanted to use her skills and the technology to be able to help people. Her Experience A few years ago the number one rule in real estate was “location, location, location.” Over the past few years there has been a paradigm shift in the landscape. Today the new rule of real estate is “marketing, marketing, and more marketing. Teresa has been actively buying and selling real estate in the local area for over 9 years and is now licensed as a full-time realtor, helping others realize their dreams of home ownership and investment in their financial futures. With over 25 years of experience in the information technology field, she understands the importance of using the Internet and the latest technologies to market your home to buyers worldwide. Working with the Best Buyers want to see more homes and sellers need to expose their property to more prospects. Teresa is the special assistant to Exit Realty Expertise principal broker Richard Snow. They have teamed up to use the latest technologies to fill those needs. Teresa combines her experience, technical education and emotional intelligence to understand her client’s desires and work with people from all walks of life in their search for the perfect home. She has had the honor of receiving Certificates of Recognition and the prestigious Teamwork Award while working for the U.S. Navy. Teresa is a member of the National, Virginia, Fredericksburg Area, and Northern Neck Associations of Realtors, Women’s Business Network, King George Chamber of Commerce, and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. Her Interests In her time off, Teresa enjoys sharing her love of flying with others, photography, interior design gardening, visiting and touring the great American mansions such as the Biltmore and Henry Flagler mansions. Originally from North Carolina, Teresa is now proud to call the lovely state of Virginia home, having lived here for 14 years. Teresa’s and her husband Kevin’s most recent accomplishment is the design and construction of their lovely home, while also managing their rental properties. She has enjoyed the privilege of international travel and takes every opportunity to visit new locations around our beautiful country, meeting and appreciating the diversity of everyone she meets. Teresa has been the Volunteer Coordinator for the Experimental Aircraft Association’s Virginia Regional Fly-in and is proud to support her local community with her EXIT Realty Expertise Team members through food, coat and school supply drives, and Habitat for Humanity build projects. |
